The Shakh-Fazil Archaeological Complex is located in Jalal-Abad Province. It is a sacred Muslim site and attracts many pilgrims every year. In many scholarly sources, the name of the main building is the Shakh-Fazil Tomb, the main Karakhanid tomb built between approximately 1050-1060 AD.
There are about 25 tombs in Shakhpazil as monuments from the 10th - 12th centuries AD of the Karakhan Dynasty.
Cattle grazing, tree cutting and hunting are prohibited in areas designated as sacred sites, and a small number of residents engage in tourism to cultural and religious sites or operate vegetable and fruit storage.
